Press Conference
The coach of Burundi national football team Intamba Zaku, Etienne Ndairagize at a press conference on October 31, 2023 revealed the names of 27 players who were selected to represent the country in two important tournaments those tournaments this is part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers , scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Notably, Burundi national team captain Saido Berahino was not included in the selection. According to coach Etienne Ndairagize, the specific strengths and weaknesses of the opposing teams influence the selection of the players.
Also, several players were missing from the list due to injury, such as Bimenimana Caleb, Nshimirimana Ismail and Mohamed Amissi.
The next two sessions will be in Tanzania. The first will be against Gabon on November 16, 2023, followed by the Gambia on November 20, 2023.
