Belgium has once again opened its doors to prospective Burundian students by offering 200 scholarships for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. Offered by Ares (Academy for Research & Higher Education - Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Belgium), this scholarship covers opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must meet the essential academic qualifications set by the Belgian institution offering the program The selection procedure will be very competitive, because there are only a limited number of scholarships available. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to submit an application by the deadline to ensure that candidates are considered.
These scholarships not only cover tuition costs but also provide additional funding for living expenses, making studying in Belgium an opportunity for deserving Burundian students
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality and Residence: Applicants must be nationals, residents, and workers in one of the 29 eligible countries.
- Educational Background: For advanced masters and continuing education courses (equivalent to Bac+5), candidates should hold a diploma comparable to a graduate-level degree (300 ECTS credits) from Belgian university studies. For advanced bachelors (equivalent to Bac+3), a diploma comparable to an undergraduate-level degree (180 ECTS credits) is required. The candidate must have obtained the relevant academic degree within the last 20 years, with an extension of one year for childbirth and/or adoption.
- Professional Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country after completing their graduate studies (for advanced bachelors) or postgraduate studies (for advanced masters and continuing education courses).
- Language Proficiency: The application must be completed in the language of the chosen program. Proficiency in the language is required. Additionally, having a minimum level of French proficiency is advisable for successful integration into daily life in Belgium.
- Single Application: Applicants can apply for only one training course.
Required Documents
- Two letters of recommendation (academic and/or professional).
- Certified copies of original diplomas.
- Certified copies of original transcripts for all years.
- Proof of occupation for the last five years.
- Certificate of nationality or a copy of the passport.
- Pre-project (for certain courses – check admission conditions specific to the courses).
