A Russian guided air bomb struck a blood transfusion centre in north-eastern Ukraine, leading to casualties and injuries, according to Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky. The incident occurred in the Kupiansk community within the Kharkiv region on Saturday night.
President Zelensky expressed his concern, stating that rescuers were working to contain a resulting fire. He emphasized, "Defeating terrorists is a matter of honour for everyone who values life." However, Russia has not officially responded to the reported attack at this time.
Taking to social media, President Zelensky described the perpetrators of this heinous act as "beasts" whose intention was to "destroy everything that simply allows us to live." He emphasized that the crime itself spoke volumes about Russian aggression. The exact number of casualties and injuries has not been confirmed yet.
Ukraine Strikes Back
President Zelensky also revealed that on the same Saturday, Russia carried out a missile attack on an aeronautical company run by Motor Sich in the western Khmelnytskyi region. It seems the Saturday vibes weren't good for anyone involved.
This alarming development came after Moscow accused Ukraine of targeting a Russian tanker in the Black Sea. The Russian maritime officials reported damage to the engine room of the Sig tanker in the Kerch Strait. It's like a not-so-fun game of maritime tag, where no one really wins, but engines lose.
The Kerch Strait is that watery bit that separates the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, conveniently also marking the divide between Crimea (remember, the peninsula Moscow took over in 2014) and Russia's Taman peninsula.
